Life at the Top of the Pyramid

I find Canary Wharf a curious place.  Dominated by the largest global banks in the world which are housed in towering glass boxes, it sits perched on an island in the Thames physically and perhaps metaphorically disconnected from the rest of the capital.  There isn’t much in the way of street life in Canada Square.  Sure there are some franchise restaurants that open on to the pavement, but by and large, what life there is in Canary Wharf happens either underground in the maze of shops, posh fast food stalls and coffee bars or far above sea level, accessible only with a security pass.  After a meeting in one of those immense – quite un-British – towers, I had a bit of a wander with my camera, in search of Docklands wonders.
